PANAJI: The state government has told the High Court of Bombay at Goa that the ICU at the South Goa District Hospital at Marago will be operational by the end of May 2024.
The Health Director had declared in the affidavit that the SGDH will be fully operational as soon as staff members, even those on contract, are engaged at the district hospital and until regular positions are created and filled.
As a matter of fact, the Health Director informed the High Court that the government is currently reviewing and debating a proposal to create positions for the South Goa district hospital’s nine-bed ICU/CCU, High Dependency Unit, Step Down ICU, and Blood Component separation.
The Health Director said in her affidavit that “all the major grievances of the petitioner as raised in the petition shall be fulfilled as soon as the posts are created and the vacancies filled up on a regular basis.”
