MARGAO: The South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) monthly meeting turned stormy with the Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai objecting to re-opening of Margao and Ponda ODPs.
The meeting was called to approve the sale of plots at Dhavali, Ponda and opening of ODP.
At the meeting, SGPDA Chairman Wilfred D’Sa came down heavily on Vijay Sardessai regarding SOPO collection issue.
He said after he became chairman the income from SGPDA have increased from 1.5 to 9 lakhs.
“Vijai keeps of complaining about the tender process but he was silent from last many years on the same tender and low income of SGPDA and never floated the tenders in his tenure for the SOPO,” he said.
Sardessai objected for opening of ODPs again and said that SGPDA is hand in glow with SOPO contractor.
“This is a technique of ruling party to raise fund for coming elections,” he charged.
Kamat said that forming new ODP is totally wrong and don’t know what forced SGPDA to do so.
“I will raise this issue in coming assembly session,” he added.
Meanwhile, Ponda MLA Ravi Naik said he has no objection for opening of ODP if it will help public.
