VASCO: A heated argument between a couple ended in murder when a civil contractor is alleged to have murdered his wife at their home in Shantinagar-Vasco.
At approximately 2:30 pm, Chaloba Kesarkar (42), a resident of Shantinagar who is originally from Belgaum, got home and got into a furious fight with his Karwar-born wife Vaishali (39).
Chaloba had been having intense arguments with his wife on a regular basis and had been suspecting her of adultery.
Vaishali had even reported her husband to the Vasco police for allegedly harassing her at some point in the past. When Chaloba was called to the police station and his behavior was warned, Vasco police registered her complaint as non-cognizable.
Chaloba had gone back home for lunch on Friday afternoon when he got into a furious fight with Vaishali.
Taking an iron rod, Chaloba gave Vaishali a blow to the head. She hit the floor with such force that she fell.
Their sixteen-year-old son had gone to the nearby home of Vaishali’s mother to meet his grandmother and was not at home when the incident occurred.
When they heard the disturbance, some neighbors called the police, and another informed Vaishali’s father. While Chaloba stayed inside the house, he hurried to the scene as neighbors gathered outside.
When a Vasco police team arrived, they discovered Vaishali dead in the chamber.
According to reports, Chaloba admitted to the crime and was later taken into custody on suspicion of murder. Additional research is currently underway.
