CANACONA: High School students of Shrishthal village were given orientation on classification and waste disposal under the Swachh Bharat Mission by Shrishthal Biodiversity management on Monday.
According to sources, Shristhal, Panchayat, under the Directorate of Panchayat, organized a special program in the Panchayat hall, where Essay writing and Painting competitions were held for high school students in the panchayat hall.
A special session was organized for various committee members and Self-Help group representatives working in the panchayat areas along with the student’s orientation of segregation/classification and disposal of Waste under the Swatch Bharat Mission.
Sarpanch Sejal Gaonkar was present as the chief guest on occasion, while Panch Akshada Velip, panchayat Secretary Sushant Lolyekar, Shrishthal Biodiversity Committee Chairman Vinay Tubki, Member Shirish Pai, village Teacher Tukaram Salgaonkar, Gangesh Velip and departmental Resource Officer Sujit Naik were present.
All the participating students were given certificates at the hands of dignitaries.
Earlier, Sarpanch Sejal Gaonkar welcomed, and teacher Salgaonkar and BMC Chairman Vinay Tubki expressed their thoughts on the occasion.
Sujit Naik gave guidance on waste disposal and classification. Shirish Pai moderated the program and gave the vote of thanks.
