CANACONA: Except for a slight commotion at one of the booths, polling was by and large remained peaceful in the 59 polling stations for the Canacona constituency.
According to sources, there was a slight commotion at the Kudewada polling booth in Gaondongrim village, where some voters began to shout to vote for Ramesh Tawadkar (BJP candidate), asking everyone present at the booth to vote only for Tawadkar. A few others objected to the dictates right at the polling booth and, according to sources, requested for polling Officers attention.
Out of 59 polling booths in Canacona, two of the Booths are declared as Pink Booths (Women’s polling stations) at Sadolxem (Poinguinim village) and Delem (Mastimoll) in Canacona municipality.
A lone Polling Station at the central of Chaudi commercial Town is designated as Green Booth, and the same is decorated with plants spreading Greenery all around.
A source at the Returning Office informed there are no incidents of any trouble of whatsoever nature is reported, and the voting has been by and large peaceful.
