PANAJI: As the town and country planning board is in final stage of making necessary corrections in the ODPs, Minister Vishwajit Rane today said that the people holding high positions will be exposed for all illegalities.
“I would like to say that, we are in the final stages of closing the issues, making necessary corrections & reverting them back to its status in ODPs & Regional Plan 2021 in ODP areas where illegalities have been done & areas have been wrongfully converted for personal gains,” said Rane
He further said that illegalities of people in high holding positions will be exposed. Investigation in this matter is still in process.
“I appeal to the people of Goa, to see the calibre of people you elect. These people are the ones who at the cost of their power make profit for personal gains,” he added
Rane also said that People have received threats, been compelled to sell their lands, and had their properties turned into orchards and open spaces.
“I would also like to make a mention that it is up to each one of us to create a channel and give access to the people to reach out to us pertaining to the portfolios that we manage. As far as im concerned, I have shared my email to be more accessible to the people,” he added
He said that he was happy with the response received which sheds light on the fact that the people of Goa understand and support my initiative. My whole objective is to build a transparent ecosystem in the portfolios headed by me to ensure no illegalities take place during my tenure.
“These investigations will not only be restricted to the Town & Country Planning but several other agencies that needs to be roped in following all due procedures. Each & every aspect is being looked into,” the minister said
Meanwhile, Rane said that he can assure you all that this will end well in the interest of the people of the state. We are here to protect the landscapes and prevent illegalities and create transparency that no one in a position of authority in the state will ever take the people of Goa for a ride.
