Porvorim: Subhash RamnathHalarnkar candidate supported by the ruling PanchayatPanel and Local MLA Rohan Khaunte wins Socorro panchayat By Polls from ward no 10. He won by a margin of 22 votes.
The number of panch members on the ruling side has become 9 now after by poll result. Out of 930 voters, 681 cast their votes last Sunday. Subhash Harnkargot had 322 votes while his rival candidate Sanjay Redkar had 300 votes to his credit. HerambHalarnkar got 45 whereas the other candidate KajalWadkar got only 9 votes. 5 votes were rejected.
The results were announced immediately after the counting of votes was taken up this morning at the Mhapusa Mamlatdar office. Mamlatdar PratapraoGaonkar announced the result after counting was over. He declared Subhash Halarnkar as the winner.
Development of the Porvorim Constituency is going on under the guidance & cooperation of the Tourism Minister and local MLA Rohan Khaunte. After the victory, Subhash Halarnkar said that the process of development of panchayat wards and the development of constituencies has been on for the last 12 to 13 years without any politics. I am here to carry those development processes further.
He said “I am deeply grateful to the people of Joshwado for the trust they have shown in me. I will work under the leadership of the local MLA for the development of my ward and village.”
Tourism Minister and MLA of PorvorimConstituency Rohan Khaunte also expressed his gratitude to all the voters including Joshwada for reposing faith & trust in the candidate backed by him. He said, that when like-minded Panchayat Mandal is in power, the development of Panchayat Wards will be an easy task.
