PANAJI: Permission to share contact information (phone numbers) from Suchana Seth’s mobile phone has been granted by the Bombay High Court in Goa. Seth is on trial for the January murder of her four-year-old son in Candolim.
However, the accused has been denied access to the cell phone itself by the court. Seth had contested the Children’s Court ruling that rejected her request for the device’s return.
On Wednesday, Justice Bharat Deshpande’s bench ordered that the process be finished on November 21 in front of the Children’s Court representative.
It may be possible to ask the Children’s Court to grant the Investigating Officer permission to duplicate the contact information on the petitioner’s (Seth) cell phone, which is currently lodged with the Court.
The ruling states that a report to that effect must be presented to the Children’s Court after the procedure is completed in front of the Superintendent or Head Clerk of the relevant Court.
The Bench ordered the gadget to be returned to Children’s Court after recording the details, stating that the petitioner is to utilize them to get in touch with her family members as and when the Court permits. At the moment, Seth is in judicial custody. She was just charged by the Children’s Court to stand trial.
