ARAMBOL: A Swedish national has been arrested by the Anti-Narcotic Cell (ANC) of Goa Police for allegedly possessing narcotic substances and staying in the country without valid travel documents.
The accused, identified as Andreas Lorenzo Calic (39), holder of Swedish passport number 35584065, was found in illegal possession of narcotic substances late Saturday night. Acting on a complaint by Girish T. Padloskar, an officer attached to the ANC, the offence was registered at 22:38 hrs under Crime No. 16/2025.
Calic was residing at a rented accommodation in Madhalawada, Arambol, Pernem. Following his arrest and during custodial interrogation, police discovered that he was residing in India without a valid visa, in violation of Section 7(1)(3) of the Foreigners Order, 1948 and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946.
He has been booked under Sections 22(a), 22(b), 22(c) read with Section 29 of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Jaydeep Playekar.
