CANACONA: Stating that Janardhan Bhandari and Vikas Bhagat are telling blatant lies regarding the felled/trees wood being processed at the government owned carpentry, Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar said, a defamation will be filed against the duo for defaming his name.
‘The wood/trees they are pointing out are purchased through legitimate auctioning of the forest department for the use of houses being built under Shram-Dham. Tawadkar reacted on the allegations of his direct involvement of illegal tree felling and illegal processing at the government owned carpentry unit.
Further posting a video in social media thursday night, Tawadkar said, ‘It is in everybody’s Canconcar’s and mostly all Goan knowledge, that under Shram-Dham scheme (yojna) we have begun to build houses to the Society’s last or poor person in Canacona.
And in this context, to meet the wood needs, we decided to use the felled trees in forest department forests, and after convincing the forest staff/adhikari’s we have taken On-Site action of the wood’. The wood which we have taken on auction was brought to the government carpentry and for the last two days it is being processed accordingly.’
At this time, some self proclaimed leaders from Canacona, and believing themselves as self-saviours of the poor, and eager to become leaders by themselves like janardhan Bhandari and Vikas Bhagat, went to government carpentry unit where the processing of wood needed for Shram-dham houses was in progress.
Disturbing the the carpentry staff, saying the wood is illegal and Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar had brought it through illegal means, making such allegations against me and attempting to defame me has been made by both, will be strongly dealt with’.
