Pernem: In a major breakthrough, Pernem Police have arrested three more accused in connection with the recent case involving the assault and attempted robbery of a taxi driver, registered under Pernem Police Station Crime No. 45/2025. The accused—identified as Mr. Shankar s/o Madhukar Pawar alias Hadya (24) and Raju s/o Madhukar Pawar alias Gudya (23), both residents of Sarole, Mohal, Solapur, Maharashtra, along with Mr. Ajay s/o Sunil Bhosale (27), a resident of Dhanegaon, Tuljapur, Dharashiv, Maharashtra—were apprehended from Sawantwadi.
Police investigations have revealed that the trio is allegedly associated with the notorious Pardi gang, known for its involvement in interstate crimes. The accused have been booked under Sections 109, 310(2), 311, 312 read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Sources informed that the arrests were made following sustained surveillance and technical tracking of the suspects’ movements.
With these arrests, the total number of individuals held in the case has gone up, and further investigations are underway to determine their role in similar offences reported across Goa and neighbouring regions. Police have not ruled out the possibility of more arrests in the coming days as the probe deepens.
