CANACONA: The sudden onset of pre-monsoon thunderous rains created having in Canacona with a number uprooting of different type of trees including a huge Banyan on Thursday evening in Canacona.
Canacona fire services are on their toes till going to the press attending as many as 8 calls of trees falling including coconut trees falling incidents on houses and tourism huts, at Palolem, Patnem, besides Shristhal, Polem, Loliem and Chaudi.
Followed by fiercely blowing winds and thunders, rains lashed many parts of Canacona for more than half-an-hour throwing normal life out of gear, and surprising motorists especially two wheeler riders running for safety.
Beging passed 5 pm Fire Services initially rushed to clear a large Mango tree that fell on the road at Delem, and immediately rushed to Ourem (Palolem) to clear a Coconut tree that fell and destroyed a Tourist Hut near Art Resorts.
A Jungle tree fell on a vehicle parked inside a garage, near St Theresa School Chaudi, was cleared by fire services .
Fire personnel had to rush to cut and remove a Coconut tree that fell on a House and some Huts Near Sobit Sarovar Hotel, Palolem, and reach out to clear a Mango tree that fell on the House of one Mahesh at Xeller area
A fire personnel rushed to clear a Coconut tree that fell on electricity alignment at Tansi- Loliem, as a Jungle tree came crushing down on a house nr Mallikarjun temple, Shristhal, and another Coconut tree on a House at Kepemwada-Patnem.
While going to press, Fire personnel had rushed to Dulgali in Polem to cut and clear a huge Banyan tree that fell on the electricity line and road Nr Nature Harmony party hall.
