BICHOLIM: The Tillari canal at Khanyale Sateli-Bhedshi in Dodamarg gave way which would severely affect the farmers from Goa.
This incident also caused traffic jam on the Tillari-Goa road and huge loss of water.
According to the available information the left side of the Tillari canal gave way and the entire water came on roads which caused traffic jam on Goa-Tillari road for some time.
There was huge crowd of people who gathered to see the canal. People immediately blamed the contractor and poor quality work of the canal. The water later entered the nearby river causing floodlike situation.
Tillari canal supplies water to Goa and now with breaking of this canal farmers from Sal and other areas who are completely dependent on this water would be affected.
