PANAJI: Trinamool Congress Goa Unit today announced that Rs 5,000 would be provided to every household woman as guaranteed income support if the party comes to power post assembly elections to be held early next year.
The Scheme was launched by TMC Goa In-charge Mahua Moitra to provide assured monthly income support to every household in the state.
“Under the scheme, a direct transfer of Rs 5,000 per month would be made to a woman of every household as guaranteed income support,” said Moitra addressing a press conference
She further said that if the existing schemes were good, the party would not change them.
“It is an assured monthly income support scheme promised to 3.5 lakh families of Goa,” she added.
Moitra said that the Griha Laxmi scheme will cost the Govt approximately ₹1500-2000 crore, which is 6-8% of the State budget.
The TMC leader also claimed that the current government in Goa provides only Rs 1,500 per month for women.
“Griha Aadgar scheme requires almost Rs 270 crore a year, but BJP govt has earmarked only Rs 140 crore annually because of which many people are not able to take benefit,” she said.
TMC has announced a pre-poll alliance with Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) for the 2022 assembly polls.
Recently, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had announced that financial assistance under the Griha Aadhar Scheme would be increased from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,500 if the party comes to power post assembly elections.
