PORVORIM: Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte has backed CM Dr Pramod Sawant’s decision to bring in app-based taxis in the State.
“I am for app-based taxis; I have already spoken to CM & Transport Minister. It’s time we have an act together. An app where we put all our taxis together. We all need to support app-based taxis, Khaunte said.
Speaking further on the Sunburn festival, Khaunte said the promoters have cleared all their dues.
“This year, Sunburn will have more Goan flavour,” he said.
He said that in the coming 2 months, we will have a full yearly event plan which will include our cultural events like Chikal kalo, Bondera etc.
On the decision by the Goa police to stop unneccessary stopping vehicles, he said he appreciates the decision.
“Deeply appreciate prompt response by CM Dr Pramod Sawant & DGP to my plea for making Tourism hassle-free in Goa by stopping undue harassment of tourists by traffic police. IGP Omvir’s orders favour tourists as well as the public interest of Goans. Similar action is expected against touts & illegal tourist businesses,” he said.
