ARAMBOL: A violent assault case has been registered by Goa Police after a 32-year-old Nashik resident was allegedly attacked near Shangrilla Restaurant at Arambol in Pernem.
According to police, the offence was registered on May 9, 2026, at 5:59 pm based on a complaint lodged by Parag Jagtap, who is presently residing at Ashvem in Pernem, Goa.
As per the complaint, the incident took place on May 8 at around 9:30 pm near Shangrilla Restaurant, Arambol, after the accused allegedly suspected the complainant of verbally abusing them on the previous day.
Police stated that accused Bhawani Singh allegedly assaulted the complainant with a wooden danda, choked him by the neck and kicked him on the chest.
The second accused, Sameem Abdulla, allegedly caught hold of the complainant and twisted his scrotum, causing a serious lacerated injury.
The accused persons also allegedly threatened the complainant with dire consequences before fleeing the spot. Police confirmed that both accused were arrested on May 9, 2026.
Further investigation in the case is being carried out by PSI Kunal Naik of Mandrem Police Station.
