KERI: In a decisive action to ensure the safety and regulation of adventure tourism activities in the state, the Tourist Police Unit apprehended unauthorized paragliding equipment at Keri Plateau, Keri-Pernem, Goa, on February 27, 2025.
The equipment was seized from Raju Gawandi, a resident of Talewada, Pernem, Goa, who was found conducting paragliding activities at the location without the requisite permission from the Competent Authority.
Director of Tourism, Kedar Naik added “The Department of Tourism is actively working to streamline adventure tourism activities to ensure safety, compliance, and quality experiences for visitors. We urge all operators to adhere to the legal framework and obtain necessary permissions before engaging in such activities.”
The confiscated paragliding equipment, along with a detailed report, is being forwarded to the Directorate of Tourism for further necessary action as per the established regulations governing adventure sports in the state.
The Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, reiterates its commitment to ensuring safe and responsible adventure tourism in the region. Strict action will be taken against unauthorized operators to safeguard the interests of tourists and uphold safety standards.
For any adventure tourism activities in Goa, operators are urged to obtain the necessary permissions and adhere to the safety guidelines mandated by the Directorate of Tourism.
