PONDA: A truck rammed into a hotel at Opa-Khandepar busy junction this morning wherein two students had a miraculous escape.
Luckily no casualties as the hotel were closed.
Two school children waiting at the bus stop rushed and saved life after seeing the truck coming in their direction.
Locals blamed the incomplete new Khandepar bridge because traffic is still diverted on the old bridge at OPA junction.

In the absence of an approach road /ramp to the new bridge towards the Ponda side, the old bridge is still used for one-way traffic to proceed towards Belgaum while vehicles from Belgaum proceed from the new bridge via service road towards service road Ponda.
Today, the twelve wheeler truck carrying bauxite was proceeding towards Khandepar Junction.
Locals said the driver of the truck brakes failed to control the truck, following which it rammed the hotel causing major damages to Anantasram Hotel owned by Nitin Parkar.
The bike owned by Sanjay Naik was parked in front of the hotel was damaged under the truck.
