Bicholim: Police have registered a case against a TV mechanic for allegedly cheating a businessman from Sarvan of ₹10,200 and misappropriating a part of his television set.
Complainant Nitin Kumbharjuvekar (52) told police that on June 26, accused Deepak Naik (43), a resident of Old Goa and native of Karwar, Karnataka, was entrusted with repairing his Sony television. Naik allegedly removed a part of the TV under the pretext of replacing it and induced the complainant to pay ₹7,200 via Google Pay and ₹3,000 in cash as service charges.
According to the complaint, the accused then began avoiding communication and failed to return the uninstalled part, thereby committing criminal breach of trust and cheating.
