ZUARINAGAR: Verna police have registered a case against two individuals from Zuarinagar for allegedly assaulting a resident of Mangoor Hill, Vasco, near the Zuari Bridge at Cortalim on Friday evening.
According to the complaint lodged by Pratik Chari, the incident occurred on July 11 around 6:30 pm when he was accosted by the accused, identified as Omkar Ganachari and Ashutosh Ganachari, both residents of Zuarinagar, Sancoale.
Police said the accused persons, reportedly acting in common intention due to previous enmity, abused Chari using filthy language and later physically assaulted him.
“The accused persons allegedly kicked the complainant on his chest, face, and other parts of the body, resulting in a fracture injury on his face. They also issued threats of dire consequences,” police stated.
Verna police have registered a case under sections 352, 117(2), and 351(3) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The investigation is being carried out by Head Constable Shiva Naik of Verna Police Station, under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
