CURCHOREM: Tension surrounding the proposed Bandara project at Mirabag on the Zuari river has escalated, with local protesters filing two separate complaints alleging unauthorised works in the area.
The first complaint has been lodged against contractor Manoj Dukle for allegedly excavating private property under Survey No. 3/3 at Mirabag without obtaining the landowner’s consent. Protesters have accused the contractor of trespassing and damaging private land under the pretext of executing the Bandara project.
In a separate complaint, protesters have named M/s Laxmi Civil Engineering Services Private Limited, alleging that the company dug up a road in Mirabag to lay a pipeline without proper authorisation.
The complainants have sought immediate intervention and action against both the contractor and the company.
Melson Colaso, Police Inspector of Curchorem Police Station, said that the matter will be examined and an inquiry will be conducted. Further investigation is underway.
