PANAJI: Tragedy struck a group of students who had gone for a trip to Dharbandora on Monday.
The group of students from Dada Vaidya High School, Ponda, who recently were promoted from Class X, went on a trip to Okami Dharbandora.
When they were returning, a 16-year-old girl named Sania Mulla was swept away by the water while crossing the River.
To save her, a friend of hers, Pradip Malanawar, aged 17, jumped into the water. But they were both swept away by water.
Police sources said body of one girl has been found on Tuesday morning while search is on for the body of the other.
