CANACONA: In an eventful packed 24th Lokotsav, several union ministers including Nitin Gadkari to grace the three days traditional gala gathering of over 2 lakhs of people from 6th, 7th and 8th of Decembers at Adarsh Gram, Amonem, Poinguinim, Canacona.
Every traditional method and concepts the Goan rural folks would subject themselves to for the last 100-200 years are being showcased and enlightened in every Lokotsav held for the last 23years, and the three days 24th Lokosthav would continue to do so.’
Addressing press conference , Speaker and Adarsh Yuwa Sangh, President Ramesh Tawadkar,stating the 3days extravagant will showcase and involve children from pre-primary to college levels activities . listed out programs right frm day one like fancy dress competition of pre-primary schools, , Group dan of primary schools, ?Fancy Dress competition , Drawing competition, Story-Telling, Solo Dance, Group Dance, Patriotic Song group singing, Poster, MIMIE, Monologues, Solo Dance, Ghumat Arti, , Quiz, Rangoli, Elocution, all at Taluka level of (Canacona. Addressing the media, Tawadkar said, Goa is undoubtedly known world over as the beach destination, whereas only 20% of Goas culture, beauty and tradition is found on beaches, whereas , rest of the 80% of actual, real and traditional Goa lies in the rural hinterland of our State. ‘Ganvponn and Munisponn’ Community living with Humanity is more in villages and traditional ways of living lies in rural hinterlands and not on Goa’s beaches.’ Tawadkar.
As usual agriculture concept and its sale is one important part of the lokotsav activity, rural sports, national games, Science exhibition and competition, sports , adventure and water sports, artists from several other States will showcase their traditional avenues and methods. folklore, by Goa’s Gramin (rural) projection to the nation and the world
The Union Minister for Roads and Transport will personally attend the Lokotsav. Union minister of State for Tribal Welfare, Uekey, Himachal Pradesh Speaker Madam, Gujarat Speaker Shankar Chaudhary, Ex –State Union Health Minister Bharti Pawar, besides many MPs, and MLAs from all over the Country are going to participate in the Lokotsav’, informed Tawadkar.
Registration of 4000 volunteers from Pernem to Polem for Lokotsav is in its final stages not only in Goa but Lokosthav is not projected in front of the nation. 2-3 lakhs are expected to attend as more stress is on Agriculture, and we have vast experience on that front.
One important vad and vivad we have very often in our State will be addressed in a two day Sanyukt samelan between Sahitya Konkani and Sahitya Marathi.

A Brochure on Lokotsav 2024 is released on the Occasion with the official designates of Adarsh Yuwa Sangh, Shri Balram Education Society, to be held in collaboration of Directorate of Art & Culture Department.
