Betalbatim: United Club Verna defeated Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda 4-3 via the tiebreaker to enter into the quarterfinals of the 7th Martin’s Cup Organised by Betalbatim sports club and played at Panchayat ground Betalbatim on Wednesday.
In the inaugural match of the 7th Martin’s Cup Verna Sports Club and Don Bosco Fatorda played an end-to-end contest and kept the crowd busy but couldn’t break the deadlock till the full-time and remained a 0-0 draw.
In the resultant tiebreaker, United Club Verna scored through Desmond Gama, Desmond Pereira, Savio Pereira, and Roydon Rego, while Don Bosco Rocky Borges, Cliff Barreto, and Alfred Noronha were on target.
Issac Pereira awarded Savio Pereira the goalkeeper of United Club Verna man of the match.
