USGAO: Fire and Emergency Services (FES) with the help of Indian Coast Guard (ICG) today has managed to recover the death of an 11-year-old child from Creek. The Boy had drowned last evening while returning home.
The dead body was traced in the creek behind massive factory. As per police, it was a confirmed drowning case, as police were successful in recovering footage from a nearby CCTV camera.
A group of kids from Tisk-Usgao were going home from tuition when tragedy struck in the midst of a downpour. One of them lost his balance, slipped, fell into a torrent, and swept away.
Darshan Santosh Narvekar, an 11-year-old student in Class V, is believed to have drowned, despite search efforts lasting until late at night.
According to Ponda police, the incident happened on Wednesday at approximately 7:45 p.m. in the Sainagar-Tisk Usgao neighbourhood, behind Kamala Theatre.
Narvekar lost his footing when crossing a stream since the party had chosen a shortcut because of the heavy downpour. The other kids cried out for assistance but in vain.
