VASCO: In a significant crackdown on narcotics, the Vasco police carried out an NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) raid on Thursday night, arresting a young man found in possession of a substantial quantity of illegal drugs. Rahim Shaikh, 25, son of Aslam Shaikh and a resident of Housing Board, New Vaddem, Vasco, was apprehended near the Last Bus Stop in New Vaddem.
The police seized approximately 840 grams of ganja, valued at Rs. 84,000, from the accused possession. The raid, conducted as part of an ongoing effort to curb drug-related activities in the area, marks another success in the Vasco police’s vigilance against narcotics.
According to sources, Shaikh was intercepted by officers in a late-night operation, acting on a tip-off about suspicious activities in the area. Further investigations are underway to determine the source of the drugs and any potential links to a broader network.
