Vasco: Vasco police have registered a case against a Bogmalo resident after a pet dog allegedly bit a pedestrian on the main road near Aathi Resort, Bogmalo, due to negligence on the part of the pet owner.
As per the complaint filed by Vasant Naik, the incident occurred on 18th July 2025 at around 11:30 am when the accused, identified as Deepak Kumar, allegedly left his pet dog unrestrained and without safety measures, posing a potential threat to public safety.
The complainant stated that the dog exited the gate of Aathi Resort and bit his brother, Gokuldas Naik, who was walking along the main road. The dog reportedly bit Gokuldas on his right leg, causing bleeding injuries.
Based on the complaint, Vasco police have registered an offence under Section 291 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for negligent conduct with respect to animals.
The case is being investigated by PSI Mayur Sawant of Vasco Police Station, under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik and the overall guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
