VASCO. In anticipation of the 14th Edition of the Goa River Marathon Race and Charity Fun Walk, scheduled for Sunday, the Vasco Traffic Police has issued an advisory detailing road closures and traffic diversions. The marathon will begin at 4:00 a.m., attracting participants from across India and abroad.
Vasco traffic PI Shailesh Narvekar urged the public to cooperate with the authorities to ensure smooth traffic management during the event and advised commuters to plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
” We will have road closures like the Single lane from Santrant Church Junction to Cortalim Circle , Chicalim Circle to Cortalim Circle, Chicalim Electronic Traffic Signal Point to Vishal Mega Mart , Matvem Dabolim to Balaji Co-Operative Society Ltd. Dabolim and Shantadurga Temple Junction towards Shantadurga Temple.” Said Narvekar
Narvekar also added that traffic would be diverted during the event on Sunday
” Vehicles moving from Panaji and Margao towards Vasco will be diverted from Cortalim to Birla/Titan Junction via NH 566 (Old NH-17B), continuing through Airport, Chicalim Circle, and St. Andrew Church Junction to Vasco. Route buses traveling from Panaji and Margao to Vasco will follow the same diversion. Vehicles
exiting Vasco towards Panaji/Margao will be rerouted via Chicalim Circle, Dabolim Airport Junction, and Birla Cross Junction.” Said Narvekar
” We will also have designated parking spaces for participants’ vehicles at open area near Jogger’s Park, Chicalim, Regina Mundi School Ground and Internal roads of Chicalim Park” added Narvekar
