BAINA: After receiving a complaint from a woman in Nadora, the Colvale police detained Uma Patil of Baina-Vasco on in regards to a job-for-cash scheme.
Patil has been placed under five days of police custody by the Mapusa court for additional inquiry.
The case, which was submitted on November 14, claims that Patil defrauded the complainant’s spouse of Rs 4 lakh in August of last year by promising him a job that hasn’t yet been offered.
Additionally, the complainant claimed that the loaned sum had not been paid back.
Shortly after receiving the report, the Colvale police filed a case.
Patil was already being held by Vasco police at the time to be questioned in relation to another case.
To further their investigation, the Colvale police obtained a court order for her custody after her arrest. Authorities affirmed that a thorough investigation into the claims is in progress.
