VERNA: A tourist from Maharashtra has been booked by Verna police for allegedly driving a vehicle in a rash and negligent manner on Arrosim beach, endangering the safety of beach visitors and tourists on Tuesday evening.
According to police, the incident took place on 12 May at around 17:15 hrs at Arrosim beach. The accused, identified as Rashidbeg Sadikbeg Inamdar (26), a resident of Ichalkaranji, Kolhapur, Maharashtra, allegedly drove his vehicle recklessly on the beach stretch, creating panic and fear among visitors present at the spot.
Police stated that the accused’s actions posed a serious threat to human life and personal safety, with every likelihood of causing harm or injury to members of the public and tourists at the beach.
Based on a complaint , Verna Police Station registered an offence under Sections 281 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
PSI Carry Fernandes is carrying out further investigation under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
