VERNA: In a swift and compassionate response, Verna Police successfully reunited an intellectually challenged girl with her family on the evening of April 22.
The incident came to light after police received information about a woman creating a disturbance in the Cortalim area. A team from Verna Police Station immediately reached the spot and found that the woman was unable to communicate her identity or provide any details about her family due to her condition.
She was brought to the police station, where officers initiated efforts to identify her. Through sustained enquiry and local inputs, it was revealed that the girl was from North Goa and had been reported missing earlier in the day.
After persistent follow-up, police traced her family and established contact with her parents. The girl was safely handed over to them, bringing relief to the family.
The prompt and dedicated action of Verna Police officials has been widely appreciated by citizens.
