PANAJI: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa has issued a red alert for the State on Tuesday (Tomorrow)
IMD has also forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places
While the red alert as of now is for Tuesday, IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall Wednesday.
IMD says that as forecasted, a low pressure area formed over North Bay of Bengal on June 11 and is likely to become more marked during the coming 24 hours and move west-northwest wards during the next 2-3 days.
“The movement of the low pressure area, the existing offshore trough and the strengthened westerly winds along the west coast are going to result in continued rainfall activity over Konkan and Goa,” IMD said in a statement.
