PANAJI: Goa Forward Party (GFP) MLA Vijai Sardesai has called for all opposition parties in Goa to come together in a grand alliance to defeat the BJP, saying the people want the opposition to unite.
“If we don’t do what people want, they will teach us a lesson. Goans want us to come together for rice-curry. I don’t know where this kachori-samosa came from,” Sardesai said.
Reacting to the Aam Aadmi Party’s recent statement on the alliance, Sardesai said, “I am the representative of the people of Goa. I am with the people.”
On the reported removal of GFP-AAP banners from various locations, Sardesai said, “Maybe a new banner which Goans want will come.”
He also said he did not want the influence of “Delhi politics” to impact Goa, amid growing differences over the proposed opposition alliance and the political direction of the GFP-AAP understanding.
