Panaji: After remaining adamant on the IIT Goa project at Guleli, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane – who was once known as Prince of Sattari seems all set for a U-turn on the esteemed project in his constituency.
For overt six months now Vishwajit seemed to be bulldozing the project on the Sattarkar’s despite their opposition claiming the NGOs form outside have been instigating the locals.
However, the minister seemed rattled after the neighbouring villages of Mauxi, Dhamshe and Saleli extended support to the protesting Shel Melauli villagers.
In a series of tweets, the minister and local MLA hinted at the scrapping of the project.
In the first tweet in the afternoon, the minister said he will re-assess the situation on the ground on IIT.
“I shall be assessing the ground situation with our people regarding IIT at Shel-Melauli and will discuss the matter with Hon’ble CM @DrPramodPSawant in this regard. @BJP4Goa @ShetSadanand @goacm,” he said.
