BICHOLIM: Water to several places in Bicholim was disrupted after power supply breakdown at Padosem water treatment plant.
The SMC chairperson, Raya Parsekar; councillor, Dharmesh Saglani and others visited the plant and tookb stock of the situation.
There is power supply breakdown since yesterday evening. Work is going on and it was told that the water will probably resume at 5pm. It will take at least 6 hours for water to be treated later on and get into the reservior. Later after release of water it will take at least 4hrs for 600mm and 400mm pipeline to fill before reaching the houses.
If everything goes well residents may receive water only at midnight.
Meanwhile, due to incessant rainfall, a tree collapsed on the wall of the residential house of Radha Satudkar at joshibhat Surla Bicholim Taluka. Bicholim mamletdar, Pravinjay Pandit directed shri Pramey MiringkarTalathi of Surla to conduct the site inspection of the said house and submit report to grant gratuitous relief to the affected person.
The loss was estimated to be around Ra one lakh.
