PANAJI: A day after his U-turn on the alliance with BJP, MGP’s Sudin Dhavalikar will meet Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.
When questioned about the alliance with MGP at a press conference, the Union Minister and senior BJP leader Nitin Gadkari said he would meet MGP leader Sudin Dhavlikar today.
“MGP may not be in alliance with BJP, but I have cordial relations with Dhavlikar, he said. “I am going to meet Sudin Dhavlikar,” he added.
Dhavalikar on Sunday said that he would forge an alliance with BJP only if the party gave them 12 seats.
However, the next day, he made a U-turn saying the media misquoted him and that his alliance with BJP would be suicidal.
Former Maharashtra Chief mInister and current LoP Devendra Fadnavis has also arrived in Goa today for the meeting.
Fadnavis had met Dhavalikar in Mumbai last week. What transpired between the two is still not known.
However, sources reveal that the two right-wing parties are on the verge of another marriage and only nitty-gritties are to be decided.
Reacting to Gadkaris’s statement, former MGP MLA and PWD Minister in BJP govt Deepak Pauskar opined that he was not in favour of an alliance with MGP as it is not going help BJP much. “They do not have any organisation and have very few members,” he said.
