CALANGUTE: BJP Calangute MLA Michael Lobo today said that he will support and ensure right MLA is elected in Mandrem constituency.
“I will endeavor to elect the best MLA for Mandrem—one who will be approachable, assist the people in their job, and provide justice to them. I might even run for office in Mandrem, or we might think about nominating someone. Anything is possible,” said Lobo
Election-related chatter was dismissed by Lobo as premature, saying it was “too early to comment” and that MLAs should focus on achieving outcomes in their districts.
“There are still two years left. Every MLA ought to work. “We are also working in our constituency, but there is still a lot of work to be done,” Lobo said, emphasizing the importance of putting development above political hyperbole.
Lobo sidestepped questions regarding the political situation in Mandrem by claiming that the people will make the final decision.
“The next MLA will be chosen by the Mandrem community. Our words are worthless. People bring new MLAs when they say they want to. He said, “It is up to them to pick someone who works for their well-being.”
Nevertheless, Lobo’s remarks also raised the idea that, should his electoral chances in Calangute wane, he would run for office from Mandrem.
“I will move to Mandrem if the people from Calangute say, ‘Michael, we don’t want you anymore,'” he joked cynically.
