FATORDA: A case involving alleged molestation, verbal abuse and criminal intimidation has been registered at Fatorda Police Station following a dispute at Borda in Margao.
According to police, the FIR was registered under Sections 74, 351(2)(3), 352 read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on a complaint lodged by a woman complainant.
As per the complaint, the incident took place on May 8, 2026, at around 7:43 pm at Borda, Margao, when the complainant’s husband and son were cleaning mud with labourers. During the process, accused Alex Fernandes and his son Ashwan Fernandes allegedly abused them in filthy language.
Police said that when the complainant came downstairs to intervene, both accused allegedly abused her as well. The complaint further states that accused Alex Fernandes allegedly caught hold of the collar of the complainant’s nightgown improperly, pulled and pushed her with the intention of outraging her modesty, and also allegedly threatened to kill her.
Further investigation in the case is being carried out by PSI Salil Gaonkar of Fatorda Police Station.
