BICHOLIM: A case of assault involving a woman and her minor daughter has been registered at Bicholim Police Station following a neighbourhood dispute at Advalpal in Bicholim.
According to police, the offence was registered under Sections 115(2), 329(3), 352 read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, along with Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act, 2003, based on a complaint lodged by 50-year-old Shobha Naik, resident of Advalpal, Bicholim.
As per the complaint, the incident occurred on May 9, 2026, at around 5 pm at the complainant’s residence. Police said the complainant and the accused persons, who are neighbours, were not on cordial terms due to previous disputes. Accused Hamesha Palkar allegedly verbally abused the complainant and her minor daughter in filthy language.
Police further stated that accused Hamesha Palkar and Anuja Manerkar, acting with common intention, physically assaulted the complainant. Accused Anuja Manerkar also allegedly assaulted the complainant’s minor daughter without provocation, causing pain and injuries.
Police said an FIR has been registered and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Rashmir Parab Matonkar of Bicholim Police Station.
