KUDNE: A 55-year-old woman was allegedly murdered inside her house at Chikne-Kudne in Sankhali, with police suspecting the involvement of a youth known to the family.
The deceased has been identified as Shaila Sanjay Ghadi. According to available information, the accused youth, who reportedly frequented the house, allegedly took advantage of the absence of other family members during the afternoon and brutally assaulted the woman inside the residence.
Police said the woman succumbed to the injuries sustained in the assault. After allegedly committing the crime, the suspect fled from the spot with the deceased woman’s mobile phone.
On receiving information about the incident, officials from the Bicholim Police rushed to the scene. A forensic team and dog squad were also deployed for investigation.
Police have registered a murder case and launched a search for the accused youth.
