CANACONA: When people show their strength with one thought and togetherness for any issue, it will only democracy to be strengthened and in turn, the same democracy will enrich every citizen of our great nation, stated Govind Gawde.
Art & Culture and Sports Minister Govind Gawde speaking at the inaugural function of the Training Program at Wada Thithe UTAA at MMC Hall, Margao further said, ‘If anyone wants to create history, he/she needs to make a revolution, and to make a revolution, it is important to study history. Because there should be an idea behind every event. There is a concept and when that concept is richly shaped in the right direction, that is the real revolution. For this, it is important for everyone, especially the youth, to get social education along with schooling, and Babasaheb Ambedkar’s teaching of learning and organizing and then fighting is the need of the hour. Yesterday our situation was very serious but due to some of our active agitation our situation has improved to some extent, nevertheless today we need to create prosperity for the coming generation by doing social work and for this, we want to enrich and strengthen democracy by using the rights given by democracy and this work no one else but only we can do to our community. He further explained that individuals cannot do it but we all should do it together and that is why the organization UTAA is actively working.’
Prakash Shankar Velip, former minister and president of UTAA, said that while doing social work we had to face and cross many obstacles and insults, but if your work is honest, your positive attitude sooner or later you will get success.
Durgadas Gawde gave detailed information about various schemes in force working for the benefit of the tribals.
Vishwas Gawde, president of Gomantak Goud Maratha Sanstha, reminded and reviewed the march held on December 16, 2009, to the Legislative Assembly by the UTAA organization and the protest held at Balli on May 25, 2011.
Vasu Meng Gaonkar, former ex-MLA and President of Goa Corporation and Finance said that many activities have been started by the organization since its establishment till now, but some of our people are disturbed and various problems have arisen in society.
Rumaldo Gonsalves said in his speech that the organization is important for the social development of the villages.
On this occasion, ZP members Shobhana Velip, Suryakant Gawde, Satish Velip, Umesh Gaonkar, Rohidas Diwadkar, Anil Gaonkar, Molu Velip, Bhalchandra Usgaonkar, Subhash Kuttikar, Sandesh Shirodkar, Babu Gaonkar and Chandrakant Gaonkar were on the platform.
The program started with Lightning’s traditional lamp and Display Balli Agitation video. All programs were compared by Dr Uday Gaonkar. Finally Umesh Gaonkar thanks everyone. around more than 2000 people were presented with the program
