MORMUGAO: Coast Guard District Headquarters No 11, Goa along with CG units based in the state conducted Yoga sessions and Community Interaction Program (CIP) as part of 10th International Day of Yoga (IDY) on Friday .
The Coast Guard District Headquarters at Goa, conducted meditation & yoga camp in collaboration with “Brahma Kumari, Vasco and NAAD Yoga Center”, Panjim for all Coast Guard personnel and their families. Special emphasis was laid on including yoga in daily fitness regime to ensure a healthy body and a healthy mind. The culmination was on the Friday, the International Day of Yoga. These Yoga sessions were also conducted by all CG shore units at Goa for their personnel . Coast Guard ships conducted yoga at sea also. The event concluded with water yoga.
Keeping up with the theme of 10th International Day of Yoga – 24 ‘Yoga for self and Society’, Special Community Interaction Programs were conducted at Colva, Betul, Velsao & Bogmalo during the period from 07 to 20 Jun 24 with fisherfolks. The community interaction programs alongwith focus on various safety aspects at sea including safe fishing practices etc, the fisherfolks were also briefed about the benefits of Yoga. They were advised to practise Yoga for a healthy & stress free life.
