ANJUNA: Anjuna Police Station has registered a case of rape and theft against a 19-year-old male from Nachinola, Bardez Goa, following a complaint by a lady from Mayem, Bicholim Goa.
The accused, identified as Elian Alijah D’Abreu, was arrested on July 10, 2025, at 10:54 PM.
According to the complaint filed on July 10, 2025, at 9:55 PM (Cr. No. 104/2025), the incident is alleged to have occurred in March 2025 at a resort in Vagator, Bardez Goa.
The complainant stated that Elian Alijah D’Abreu allgedly had exual intercourse with her against her will and also stole her gold chain from the room.
The case has been registered under Sections 64 (punishment for rape) and 305 (theft in a dwelling house) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Section 64 of the BNS deals with punishment for rape, which can lead to rigorous imprisonment for a term not less than ten years, extending to life imprisonment, and also a fine.
Section 305 of the BNS addresses theft committed in a dwelling house or a place used for the custody of property, carrying a punishment of imprisonment which may extend to seven years and a fine.
Elian Alijah D’Abreu, son of Jackson K D’Abreu, residing at H. No. 317 Borven Waddo, Nachinola Bardez Goa, was taken into custody by LPSI Leesha Kharbe of Anjuna Police Station. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
