VASCO: The 38th Anniversary of Goa Port Dock Workers’ Co-operative Society was Celebrated on Tuesday afternoon.
“If the youth actively engage in the business sector, it will not only benefit the state but the entire nation”, said Vinayak Rao, Vice Chairman of Mormugao Port Authority (MPA). He was addressing the gathering as the chief guest at the 38th anniversary celebration of the ‘Goa Port Dock Workers’ Co-operative Society’ held in Vasco.
Rao emphasized the importance of youth taking the lead in the cooperative sector, urging them to contribute towards its growth and success. He was joined on the stage by Shankara Babu, Secretary of MPA, Subhash Salgaokar, President of the Society, Ravi Lewis, Vice President, Sanjay Banawalikar, Secretary, Y.K. Prasannwar, Treasurer, Pradeep Bandekar, Assistant Secretary, and Directors Laxmikant Gavde, Anita Bandekar, and Dilip Naik.
The event commenced with the lighting of a lamp by the dignitaries, marking the beginning of the celebrations.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, the cooperative society honored its shareholders and also awarded scholarships to deserving students who are shareholders of the society. Shankara Babu, in his address, wished the society continued success in its future endeavors.
The annual report for the year was presented by Secretary Sanjay Banawalikar.
