CURCHOREM: Locals of Zariwado Curchorem panicked after the rainwater entered the three houses due to the water logging and heavy rainfall. Locals blame Curchorem Cacora Municipal Council for not doing their duties properly.
Zariwado, Curchorem locals were gripped by panic due to the flooding of three houses.
Locals have blamed Curchorem Cacora Municipal Council for the non-maintenance of the bridge for one decade.
According to locals, many complaints are given about this situation and the condition of the bridge, which is very bad.
Zariwado resident Marcus Costa said that for the last many years now, due to the lack of maintenance work and lack of interest shown by the local municipality, the condition has gone from bad to worse.
Former Curchorem MLA Vaikunth Desai had built this bridge, and after that, nobody came to look after this bridge which is now lying in a dangerous condition. There is no safety for the bridge and for the local people, said Costa.
He asked the PWD minister and local MLA Nilesh Cabral to look after this serious matter, Costa said.
Another lady, Rosy Gomes, said that last night due to the heavy rains there of their houses in the back side got flooded
She further requested the local ward councillor to take cognisance of the matter immediately.
