COLVA: Sonu Kumar Chauhan, a native of Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, was apprehended by the Colva police in a significant drug seizure when they discovered him in possession of ganja valued at Rs 2.4 lakh.
Rakesh Meghwal, a Rajasthani native, was also taken into custody by the police after Sonu accused him of supplying the illegal substance.
The 24-year-old accused Sonu Kumar Chauhan, who currently resides in Navelim, was apprehended for possessing a floral substance, thought to be ganja, weighing 2.401 kilogrammes and valued at Rs 2.40 lakh, according to Superintendent of Police, ANC Tikam Singh Verma, who is also in charge as SP, South.
According to SP Verma, the accused revealed the identity of the supplier—Rakesh Meghwal—who provided the accused with narcotic substances in Goa throughout the course of the inquiry after being thoroughly questioned by the Colva police.
“The police were able to locate Rakesh Meghwal in Udaipur, Rajasthan, with the aid of call monitoring surveillances. According to him, Rakesh Meghwal, a 19-year-old accused individual, was captured in Udaipur, Rajasthan, with the aid of Gogunda Police Station, technical monitoring, and electronic media.
