In a shocking revelation, the Labour and Employment has said that there are almost 48 thousand youth unemployed, which include Phd’s, post graduates, graduates, ITI’s, diploma holders.
Interestingly, more than 50 p.c of the youth registered with the employment exchange are either school/ college drop outs.
Information reveals that 47629 unemployed youth have registered with the employment exchange.
This includes, Phd (26), Post Graduate (3495), Graduates (11330),
Diploma after 12th (1164), Diploma after 10th (510), ITI (3019), 12th (11201), 10th pass (5250), Certificate Courses / Other Courses (9287), , Upto 9th (1983), Upto 6th (304) and No Schooling (60).
The Minister for Labour and Employment Jennifer Monseratte says that Government has initiated various moves to resolve the unemployment problem in the State.
“Model Career Centre (MCC) under Regional Employment Exchange have been performing various outreach activities such as organizing Job Fairs to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers, career counselling / career guidance programme, seminars and soft skill training with job seekers, in order to increase and enhance their skills as per the market requirement,” she said.
Monseratte further says that all these activities would be taken up on large scale in future for the benefit of youths in the State.
She has further revealed that since 2018, 1418 youth have been absorbed in various government departments and schools.
