Panaji: The Goa University Inter Collegiate Football Championship 2026 27 for Men entered an exciting stage on Tuesday, September 29, with 10 matches played across three venues. Several teams produced convincing performances to secure their places in the quarterfinals, with a total of 36 goals scored during the day.
At the Goa University Ground, Rosary College of Commerce and Arts, Navelim defeated Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao 2 0. Garrison Fernandes opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Salvador Gama doubled the advantage 10 minutes later.
Sridora Caculo College of Commerce and Management Studies, Mapusa, recorded a 3 0 win over Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna. Prathamesh Sawant was the star of the match, scoring all three goals in the 15th, 50th and 55th minutes.
At Rosary Church Ground, DM’s College, Assagao defeated Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Khandola 2 0, with goals from Kreepal Dhargalkar and Chandrakant Shirodkar.
S.S. Dempo College, Cujira, Bambolim, beat Don Bosco College, Panjim 3 1. Nihar Naik, Shane Fernandes and Topon Minj scored for Dempo, while Aryan Salunke pulled one back for Don Bosco.
Fr. Agnel College of Arts and Commerce, Pilar, registered a commanding 6 0 victory over Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi. Hazrath Saheb scored twice, while Ruben Azevedo was also among the scorers.
At Chowgule College Ground, Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda edged Government College Sanquelim 3 2. Carl Soares scored twice after Shennoy Fernandes had opened the scoring.
Government College Quepem defeated Narayan Zantye College, Bicholim 2 1, while C.E.S. College, Cuncolim produced the biggest win of the day, thrashing GVM’s Gopal Govind Poy Raiturcar College 9 0. Swavel Furtado scored a hat trick.
The quarterfinals will be played on October 1 at Chowgule Ground, Margao, and Rosary Church Ground, Navelim.
