The Health department aims to distribute 5000 home isolation kits a week and each kit will be numbered to stock and kit distribution.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said, he addressed a virtual meeting with all the Health Officers from UHCs & PHCs in the presence of Health Secretary Amit Satija, Director DHS Dr. D’Sa, Dean GMC Dr. Bandekar, Under Secretary Trupti Manerkar & Smt. Swati Dalvi, Joint Secretary-Health Ajit Pauskar, FDA Director Jyoti Sardessai, Dr. Utkarsh Betodkar & Dr. Kedar Raikar.
He said that the SOPs and protocols for the distribution of Home Isolation Kits were shared with the health officers for seamless distribution and effective use.
“We aim to distribute home isolation kits to 5000 patients in a week. Each kit will be numbered to monitor the stock and kit distribution,” he said.
He said the health officers will issue prescription to patients receiving the kit for Doxycycline and Ivermectin tablets.
“Daily records of home isolation patients to be signed by respective health officer at PHCs and SOPs to be drawn for taking CT Scan and Xray of home isolation patients,” he said.
For critical patients, he said, elderly or co-morbid patients, CT Scan and Xray to be done beforehand.
“Patients under home isolation who are above 50+ to be monitored 3 times a day by ANMS and MPHWs. Special attention to be given to them by Senior doctors,” he said.
Rane said the MPHWS and ANMs have been trained to record and monitor patient data and alert any escalation to the health officers.
“If required, Anganwadi workers or CDPOs to be roped in to monitor home isolation patients. Nodal Officer for managing Home Isolation, Dr. Palekar, to have two doctors under him respectively in North Goa and South Goa, to interpret and dissect information from the database, which will then be reported back to the Nodal Officer,” he says.
He said 10 nurses will be trained for analyzing patient records and reporting same to State Epidemiologist.
“Few COVID Care centers to remain active to reduce pressure from GMC. South Goa District Hospitals to have ICU and ITUs to reduce burden on GMC and Digitization being taken up in an extensive way, any gradual or sudden fall will be red alerted and referred to the health officer,” he said.
