PANAJI: Himself facing the corruption charges, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has asked government employees to weed out Corruption.
Reiterating that the State Government is committed to providing corruption-free governance and better service to the people of the State, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today emphasized the need to weed out Corruption and promote transparency and remove hurdles in the way of achieving human development.
Speaking as a Chief guest after inaugurating the Vigilance Awareness Week Programme on the theme Independent India@75 self-reliance with integrity organized by the Directorate of Vigilance today at Seminar Hall, Secretariat, Porvorim. Chief Minister stressed the importance of the integrity pledge and urged the government officers to adhere to it throughout their career.
Highlighting the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Swayampurna Goa initiative, he said Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi interacted with all the Swayampurna Mitras and the seven beneficiaries under the Swayampurna Goa mission via virtual mode recently.
The Chief Minister informed that the Prime Minister has applauded all the seven Beneficiaries videos on his Twitter account and added that Goa is emerging as a Role model State for other states to emulate.
Chief Secretary Shri. Parimal Rai, IAS, administered the Integrity pledge to the Secretaries to Government, HODs, and Vigilance officers on occasion.
Earlier the Chief Minister garlanded the portrait of Vallabhbhai Patel the iron man of India whose birth anniversary coincided with the observance of Vigilance week.
The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of the government officers for their dedicated services under Atmanirbhar Bharat and Swayampurna Goa Programme stressed the need for speedy disposal of vigilance cases. He said celebrating the Goa@60and Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav we are more focusing on human development. While working on human development, we have to keep Corruption aside and take the initiative to work on Antyodaya principle, irrespective of caste, religion, and creed.
Parimal Rai, IAS Chief Secretary, Shri Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS; Principal Secretary, Serafin Dias superintendent of Police, ACB/vigilance, Shri Sanjeev C G Dessai Director of Vigilance, Smt Ankita Anand, IAS Special secretary were among those who were present on occasion.
Earlier, Sanjeev C G Dessai, Director of Vigilance welcomed the guest. Serafin Dias proposed the vote of thanks.
